To beat the mob of optical supremacy, Samsung announced their second 12 megapixel treat as the king of camera-built phones. Few years ago, Samsung announced their conceptual 3x optical 10 megapixel camera phone dubbed as SCH-B600 (see topic below) and soon after released the first 12 megapixel phone in the market (M8910 Pixon 12). And now they make it reality with the prevailed W880 AMOLED as the first of its kind in stature - "the true camera phone". Its 12 megapixel camera uses 3X optical zoom with variable aperture, xenon flash, touch autofocus, shake reduction function, and image stabilization with face, smile and blink detections. Its 2x optical zoom can attain the full 6x zoom capabilities. With mode dial, similar to digital camera, it features Smart Auto mode and Beauty Shot function. The W880 uses 3x optical zoom camera which allows users enjoy close-up and distance shoots with crisp resolution and uninterrupted distortion. Its 3.3" AMOLED full touchscreen display provides an exceptional photo & video shooting function, partnered with accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate and proximity sensor. With its 12 million color resolution, users can view, quickly save images and make a second shot in two seconds. The phone also provides high quality video recording at 30 fps and partnered with built-in LED lights. The W880 is also integrated with T-DMB TV receiver so users can enjoy watching TV in full time. Its built-in 4gb storage can be appreciated with additional microSD card slot (max. 32gb). It can also play multi audio and video format with great sound and clarity. So, what comes next in high end opportunity?
The level of supremacy comes in greater magnitude that it touches high-end capability to its finest. After Samsung prevailed their conceptualize 10 megapixel camera phone few years ago, Sony-Ericsson followed with a breath-taking approach. Dubbed as Satio (formerly IDUO), this mobile phone features a 12.1 megapixel camera with touch focus, xenon flash, LED flash for video capture, and image stabilizer with face & smile detection. Capturing and viewing pictures & videos are greatly appreciated, thanks to its large 3.5" wide TFT touch-screen with integrated accelerometer sensor. It has a built-in GPS, aGPS function with Google Maps and image geo-tagging. Run by Symbian OS Series 60 5th Edition platform, it is partnered by ARM Cortex-A8 600mhz processor with 3D HW graphics accelerator. Connectivities are flexible as it runs in quad-band GSM & dual-band HSDPA networks along with WI-FI, EDGE, Bluetooth and USB 2.0. Sony is always introducing ferocious and attractive things (i.e. their 24.6 megapixel A900 camera) but they unpredictably followed with their optical wonder in a shape of a candy bar. It is sweet and tempting, but can Sony-Ericsson beats the taste of Samsung W880's flavor?

Samsung answered Sony-Ericsson Satio with their M8910 Pixon12 as the first 12 megapixel unit to be release in the market (like they did with their INNOV8, 8 megapixel ago). This phone features a 12 megapixel 28mm lens camera with xenon flash, autofocus and power LED flash for video capture. The camera features touch auto-focus, Smart Auto capture, geo-tagging, wide dynamic range with face, smile and blink detections. Notable is its Smart Auto that allows users to capture the perfect images as it's automatically changes the scene and mode based on its object, background and lighting tracking. Its touch autofocus (AF) is useful that user can simply select the capture point with the touch of a finger on phone's full touch screen, after which it functions automatically to follow the object and keeping it in focus even as it moves across the screen. Users can re-live and enjoy the pictures on the Pixon12’s brilliant 3.1” AMOLED screen that boasts power-saving to its 1000 mAh battery. It enables users to organize and manage photos with multiple sorting by tags, file names, ratings, and time. Pixon12 use Symbian OS Series 60 v.5, same platform used by Sony-Ericsson Satio. It runs in quadband GSM and dual-band HSDPA networks similar with Satio's connectivities.
Curiousity and eagerness, the trio denotes curiousity even photographers wants to encounter. Competition of digital cameras to the market are active, but their optical greatness is quite adapted by camera phones as some of the high-end attractions this days. Everybody was astound and patient, deeply bluffing but intrigue what will be next to extreme order.
